Competitive shooters are generally scattered far and wide geographically, so it is often not possible to compete shoulder-to-shoulder in competitive matches. To accommodate everyone interested in shooting competitively, postal matches were designed.

Originally, postal matches operated either under stiff ISSF or NRA rules using only standard targets. Competitors sent their unscored targets to a central location for scoring and posting of match results. Today, using the Internet, postal matches have evolved into AirgunArena's eMatches, which operate electronically. Scores are entered by the shooters and match results are available immediately after a match is completed. In all cases - honesty and integrity is key to postal and eMatches.

Regarding rules, the eMatches operate in a relaxed mode. Sporting airgun shooters are encouraged to compete and a variety of sights are allowed. eMatches are operated for air pistol and air rifle venues - with several offerings for each. Lists of each are below.

It is very easy to become an AirgunArena eMatch competitor. All you need to do is register by creating and AirgunArena account - Create an Account. Be sure to include a valid email address for prize notifications.

3. Reported scores will not be verified, as the universal law of honesty prevails.
4. Simply choose the eMatch you wish to enter, shoot it, then report your score.
5. You may enter as many eMatches as you wish. One entry per shooter per match - exception: multiple-entries permitted with multiple guns (one entry each gun).
6. Specific information for each eMatch is found in the eMatch description in the announcement.
7. Shooting distance is listed in each eMatch description.
8. Scoring is standard for bullseye targets - exceptions will be explained in the eMatch description.
9. For the purposes of AirgunArena eMatches, non-magnifying red-dot sights are accepted as iron sights.
10. Competitors must have an AirgunArena account Create an Account with a valid email address, so the webmaster can contact them.

REPORTING SCORES
Competitors must be Logged In to report their scores. Simply enter the scores at eMatch Scores by scrolling to the eMatch you shot and click on SUBMIT SCORE, enter the information requested into each box, and click the Add Score button when finished. Take care making your score entry, as what you type is what will appear when the match results are posted. The need for individual accounts is to prevent spam and other erroneous information from entering the scoring system.

eMATCH RESULTS
The results of each eMatch are available at eMatch Scores - after the match ends. Click on the title of the eMatch you want the results for.

PRIZES
Pyramyd Air is sponsoring prizes for competition winners and Lucky Draw prizes for a randomly selected competitor in each airgun eMatch. Winners will receive a $15 Gift e-Card from Pyramyd Air and a randomly selected competitor from each eMatch will receive a $10 gift certificate. Winners will be notified via Private Message with instructions as how to collect their Pyramyd Air Gift e-Card.

COMPETITOR CATEGORIES
Senior - ages 15 and over
Junior - ages 14 and under

PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS
In the essence of sportsmanship - shooters with physical limitations will compete with other shooters by using whatever assistance is required - consistent with honesty, integrity, and no "advantage" gained.

TARGETS AND DISTANCES
Targets used must be consistent with the B-40 target for Air Pistol and the AR-5 for Air Rifle.
6-meter shooting is allowed with the use of appropriately reduced size targets.
The Air Rifle Benchrest uses a downloadable target, shot at 10 meters.
The Silhouette Shoot uses a downloadable target, shot at 10 meters.

TARGET SCORING
B40 and AR5 targets are scored as normal bullseye targets.
Silhouette targets are scored as touching the black - 5 points and fully within the black - 10 points.
Benchrest targets are scored as follows: a 10 (ten) is fully within the black center and NOT touching the white ring - a 9 (nine) is fully or partially within the white and NOT touching the orange ring - an 8 (eight) is fully or partially within the orange ring and NOT breaking the outer edge of that ring. ALL other hits count as 0 (zero)

Silhouette?
I can't locate the Beeman Short Range targets referenced for the 15 November match. Where can one acquire these targets?

Silhouette targets
Pyramyd does not have them in stock at the present time. Suggest you try Straight Shooters or Beeman.

silhouette targets
From the description of the shilhouette shooting, it seems that paper targets are in mind - I don't see a link to doing any of those. Would they be related to the NRA silhouettes? If so, give me an idea of the size needed and I'll see if I can produce those. BTW - I have generated very clean postscript files of the B-40 and AR-5 targets which can easily be printed out - let me know where to send them if you're interested.

40 and 60 shot scores
Can you shoot a 60 shot event and simultaneously enter the score from the first 40 shots as a score in the 40 shot event?

No - not how matches are to be shot
Interesting question. But, each match is a match on its own. Just the same as if you were shooting shoulder to shoulder in a live match. Thanks for asking.

shooting positions
Am I correct in assuming that shooting is standing 'off-hand' position except for the benchrest? One reason I ask is that IHMSA, in particular, has all kinds of different groupings - standing, free style, etc.rn

Positions
You are correct. These matches are too small to allow for all the variations found in an IHMSA match. Thanks for asking.

Pistol silhouette ?
Anyone else interested? I shoot the 10 meter rifle target last night only 50% hits with the steyr. Need to rescale the target to the pistol distance and try again.
