It is not widely known that the famous Lewis and Clark expidition of the first few years of the 1800s was equipped with an air rifle. This rifle was carried and handled by Lewis and Clark, likely by Sacajawea, and quite possibly Thomas Jefferson. It was all the way to the Pacific and returned to Virginia.
Not only has this amazing air rifle survived for over 200 years, it is still intact and complete.
