The regular eMatches will not be restarted this fall. There probably will be occasional seasonal matches.

Thanks for asking,

Bill Clarke

Hi Conor,

Not sure when the shoot will be this year or if it will be similar to last year's version. Mostly it depends upon competition activity rates during the next couple of months.

Not at this time. There were not enough shooters to make for a real competition. If the number of shooters is appropriate, I will consider a fall shoot.

Thanks for asking,

Bill Clarke

Velocity is not everything. You need it for hunting, but it is actually bad for a target gun. Olympic guns are always under 600 fps. Once a pellet breaks the sound barrier, 1,126 fps, it starts to tumble and accuracy suffers. Even around 800 fps, velocities start to vary widely in the accuracy department. The Gamo Compact is a good gun, but I would not recommend it for the price it is available online at. I bought mine at a local sporting goods store for $132.50 in November 2010. At that price, it is worth it somewhat, but the $225 pyramyd charges is ridiculous. I would look locally at sporting goods stores and gun shops. About 5 years ago, these guns were only $119.99 for the target grip version like mine, and $89.99 for the plastic sporter grip. They will shoot well, but if you actually do the full 60 shot matches, around 35-40 your arm will get tired of the SSP,( single stroke pneumatic action) and your accuracy will go down, some say it will not if you are strong, but I come from a weight lifting background, can curl 140, Bench 260 and Squat 620, and have been shooting for score for 19 years, since I was 11, Airguns and powder burners alike. Trust me, you will get tired working the action of the Compact for a full 60 round match. Not extremely, but enough to make your points go down. I would suggest a Daisy 747 with its Lothar Walther Barrel. Easy to cock quick, about the same power, much more accurate Granted it is not a adjutable grip like a 10 meter gun should have, but still neither is a true 10 meter gun, but more accurate that what you guys are using now. And if you can truly shoot that well with those 1377's, Red Ryders and Ravens, Maybe you guys should try out for the Olympics. Just keep it all clean.
